The design of the Frederique Constant Classics Carrée was inspired by the Art Deco movement of the 1920s and 1930s, with its straight, taut lines and elaborate geometric shapes. A style that - in a hundred years - has lost none of its appeal and remains popular among design and watch enthusiasts. The hour and minute hands tick along a "sector dial," also known as ‘railway track’, so typical of the era. An independent small seconds hand is inserted at 6 o'clock with a slight hollow plane. Another ‘Deco’ design element is the onion shaped crown, a tribute to the pocket watches that this type of wristwatch was slowly replacing as the everyday watch for everyone. As classic as the style is, underneath lies a modern Swiss FC-235 (based on Ronda 1064) movement for ultimate accuracy.
