With a completely new approach to construction and design, the GA-V01 not only has a spectacular appearance, but it's also supremely shock-resistant and conceals remarkable technical innovations: The case structure, which protects the movement, utilizes an integrated bezel and bracelet construction that partially overlaps the crystal, thus also acting as a bumper to absorb shocks. Casio has also developed a new magnetic hand construction, where the hands, normally vulnerable to impact, are not attached to the axle, but are held in place by magnetic force. This allows them to effectively absorb and dissipate shock. This new technology also allows for the creation of larger, uniquely shaped hands because the axle doesn't have to bear their weight. After a shock or vibration, the hands may temporarily shift out of position, but within a few minutes, they almost magically, return to their original position. The analog-digital dial features a layered construction with a metal face featuring lattice sections, creating decorative glimpses into the interior, and an LCD display. This watch is not for the risk-averse. It's striking, large, and sure to get people talking!
